Art Night

Art Night

Tonight I jump started my creativity.  If you read my previous post, Memory Lane, you might remember that I gave up drawing back at the end of 6th grade.  That traumatic experience may have killed off my illustrative tendencies but not my creativity all together.  Once in a while, feeling creative, I like to channel my inner artist.  Today I was inspired by a broken clock.  I felt like the casing of the clock looked like a fancy frame so I took it home instead of tossing in the trash.  I really hate to throw things away, especially when they look useful.  And art is useful.

At first I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with it.  Since it looked like a frame, I first thought of pictures, but I was not inspired looking through pictures.  I also didn’t feel like a collage.  I dug in my craft bag and came out with acrylic crafting paints.  I also found some jiggly eyes.  Now I have decided to leave the clock face.  That’s all I am going to say for now but this is a fun, silly project in the works.  I will post updated pictures as I progress.

Since this clock project is going to be done in stages and I was not artistically satisfied from these early stages, I needed another project.  I dug out an unused piece of wood for a sign and began painting it with some fall colors.  I am going to attempt to paint leaves and maybe write something cute.  If I like the finished product, I may give it as a present, or I may just keep it for myself!

A night for me, my paints and some Simon and Garfunkel playing on the record player for inspiration!  This Party For 1 is really kicking it!
